On October 4, 2024, the Rev. Dr. Emily Gail Dill was elected to the Bermuda House of Assembly to represent Constituency 36 (Sandys North). The incumbent resigned in August, leaving the seat vacant.

Rev. Dr. Dill served as the Women in Ministry President for the First Episcopal District of the AME church from 2012-2021 and has been actively engaged in social justice politics for over 30 years. Her husband is Presiding Elder Howard Dill, and she serves on the ministerial staff of Allen AME Church. She previously served as an appointed government member of the Bermuda Senate and was the National Security, Transport, and Legal Affairs and Constitutional Reform.  She resigned from the Senate on September 15 to participate in the election.

Interviewed by the Royal Gazette, Rev. Dr. Gill commented, “I know that there are individuals that did not vote for me at a high percentage, of course with a four-horse race, but what I did find were that the people of this constituency are ready to move forward, they want good representation, and I intend to be there for them.”
